Dear colleagues of Urological Association of Asia,

It really gives me great honor to serve as your president of UAA from 2010 to 2012. Facing the geriatric trend of Asian countries, it is the obligation for urologists to provide a better service to our patients and the society. For this purpose, I remind you that we need to strengthen the relationship between our 20 nation members and the affiliated nations, Australia and New Zealand. We understand that the social, economical and lingual differences among Asian countries are great. We should work closely in the future through the network provided by UAA, such as Asian School of Urology and annual (not biannual) meetings which will commence after 2013. To elevate our horizon, the association has initiated individual active membership for urologists from Asian countries and affiliated membership for urologists from non-Asian countries after 2009. I believe that Asian Urology will become prosperous when Asia leads the world with the faster economic recovery than western countries.

In my presidential term, I intend to educate urologists in our member nations of Asia countries. This decision will definitely lead to the highest point of my career as an academic urologist, because it fits the core value of our profession. Finally, please join me and work hand in hand for a better Urological Association of Asia.
