Fellowships and training opportunities
The UAA Youth Section aims to provide learning opportunities to young urologists and develop a network of the next generation of leaders to take forward the objectives of the UAA. It organizes workshops and symposiums on areas critical to the younger urologists. It provides fellowships to enable their attendance at its annual congress and details of these fellowships are made available every year. Usually the fellowships are restricted to qualified urologists within 10 years of graduation from member associations. A limited number of applicants are provided stipends to attend the UAA Congress.
UAA Observership Programme
To objective of this program is to encourage academic exchange among practising Asian's Urologists with short term visits of one to two weeks. The applicant will not have direct clinical responsibility of patients and NO hands-on on patients. This program is purely on observer's basis. Not more than 2 per year applicants will be selected every year.
SGD 20000 in total for each successful applicant in terms of economy airfare (most direct route) OR Accommodation whichever is lower. Upon completion of program, support will be reimbursed via Telegraphic Transfer. Applicant to submit boarding pass / invoice of airfare OR accommodation invoice for the said period.
- Applicants must submit their request to the UAA Central Office stating the Department they would like to visit and duration. Objective of the program must be stated.

Successful applicants will be required to write a report of their visit (with photographs) and send to the UAA Central Office within a month after completion of the program.
The Japanese Urological Association (JUA) International Foundation provides young urologists in Asian countries with support to observe surgeries/procedures, as well as attend clinics and staff activities in Japan for upto 2 months. This program supports both urological and endourological training. Scholars with no previous or current training in Japanese institutions are eligible. As part of the program, the JUA provides complimentary membership for the scholars to attend meetings organized by the JUA, and also issues certification to scholars on completion of the program. Upto JPY 550, 000 in total for each scholar paid by installment.
