JUA Fellowship

August, 2011
Dear Colleagues,
Since 2003, the Japanese Urological Association (JUA) has provided an International Foundation of Scholarship for Asian young urologists. The foundation provides to support young urologists in Asian countries to observe surgeries/procedures, as well as attend clinics and staff activities at training hospitals in Japan for two to three months. The program supports both urological and endourological training. JUA provides complimentary membership for the scholars to attend meetings which JUA organizes, and also issues certification to scholars on completion of the program.
On behalf of JUA, we officially extend the invitation to a total of seven scholars every year. The candidate should be nominated by both the department chair and the relevant national urological society of the scholar. As a general rule, up to 3 candidates can be nominated by that society. Further details of this grant and application process are provided in the attached document. We would like each society to circulate the information of this grant, select scholar(s) and support possible preparation of application forms.
Since 2003, we have received more than 40 young urologists from China, Bangladesh, Korea, Thailand, India, Nepal, Myanmar, Vietnam, Turkey, Indonesia and Bhutan. They have had the opportunity to share experiences in the clinical fields in Japanese hospitals and develop their skills.
We hope this opportunity will establish solid relationships among young urologists in Asia and support further development of urology in Asian countries.
Sincerely yours,
